He is an expert in extraordinary transactions and corporate finance (M&A), with in-depth experience in corporate reorganizations. Specialized in the management of cooperative companies and sustainability reporting, with a particular focus on ESG issues.
With a long institutional and professional career, he has held numerous prestigious positions in both the public and private sectors. His political career culminated in his appointment as Minister of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea from 2014 to 2018.
He is currently National President of UCID (Christian Union of Business Executives) and National Councilor of the Italian Association of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts. He is also President of EmilBanca – Cooperative Credit Bank and President of BCC Assicurazioni.
He works with companies and organizations both as a member of the Board of Auditors and as a board member

He provides corporate and tax advice (both ordinary and extraordinary) to companies and groups of companies, with a particular focus on industrial holding companies and cooperatives. In addition, he assists start-ups and innovative SMEs, also providing assistance to investors.
He is adjunct professor at the University of Bologna, where he teaches business administration and accounting in international degree programs.
He is also a member of the Board of Auditors of unlisted companies.
